The origin of the initiative responds to Alejandro Wohlguemuth, Civil Engineer of Arts and Manufactures graduate born in Belgium for the sale and installation of all machinery and plant material gas, spinning and weaving of cotton, wool, jute, [and] linen ... [to perform] studies, plans and budgets for facilities and factory reform, and to install "furnaces, boilers, steam engines and transmissions privileged and secured by a minimum consumption of coal." Precisely in order to pursue the business Wohlguemuth in 1879 was associated with mechanical and Teodoro Allard Jannuaire constituting the founder Alejandro A. Jannuaire Allard and Co., a company driven by the desire to "collect and make for the common knowledge and skills possessed by the [three] appearing in the art of smelting metals and mechanical engineering" and whose studio located in Barcelona.
