Jaume Ferran Clua (Corbera de Terra Alta, 1851 - Barcelona, 1929). He earned his Bachelor’s in Medicine in 1873 and created a vaccine against cholera in 1885. He was the director of the Municipal Microbiology Laboratory of Barcelona, where he developed the typhoid and rabies vaccines. In 1907 he won the Bréant international prize from the Académie des Sciences of Paris.
